About 3D Cube Solver
3D Cube Solver is a free website for solving, playing and learning twisty puzzles. You can paint a scrambled cube in 3D and get a solution, play with a virtual cube, time your solves and follow step-by-step guides, in English and Spanish.
What the site does
- Solvers. The 3x3 solver finds a solution of about 20 moves with a two-phase search, or a longer beginner solution split into the seven stages of the layer-by-layer method. The 2x2 solver always finds the shortest possible solution. The 4x4 solver uses the reduction method (centers, edge pairs, parity fixes, then a 3x3 solve). There are also solvers for the Pyraminx, Megaminx, Skewb and Mirror cube. You can enter a cube by painting stickers, by typing a scramble, or, for the 2x2 and 3x3, by scanning it with your camera.
- Simulators. Virtual 2x2, 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5 cubes you can turn with a mouse, a finger or the keyboard, plus a Pyraminx, Megaminx and Skewb.
- Timer and guides. A speedcubing timer with averages, notation reference, and beginner guides for the 2x2, 3x3 and 4x4 with 3D demonstrations.
All solving happens in your browser. The cube you enter is not sent to a server.
